Contains only active Australian Manuka (Jellybush) Honey ULF 20+. Jellybush belongs to the Leptospermum group of plants, which is widely distributed in Australia and occupies a variety of habitats from coastal dunes to high mountain areas. Australian Medicinal Honey, the manufacturer of this product, collects the strongest and most potent Jellybush Honey which comes from Leptospermum trees found growing in the pristine sub tropical coastal forests surrounding Byron Bay on the East Coast of Australia. This honey is tested for activity at New Zealand Laboratory Services Ltd (Hamilton, NZ) before packaging (results available upon request). This product offers strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties in a topical form for the management of minor burns, cuts and scrapes. Other products containing manuka honey have been approved by the FDA for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers and antibiotic-resistant wound infections (MRSA). Product is sterile and more effective than manuka honey creams because it contains only active Australian manuka honey. Research by Cooper and Jenkins (U. of Wales) has shown that sterility is important in wound healing honeys because regular honeys contain microbial spores that may germinate under certain conditions. Manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (approval code AUSTL 158248). We may be out of stock on occasion due to the requirement for high activity, which not all batches of honey meet, and strong global demand for the product. To clients that have bought the Comvita 18+ product before: Comvita no longer manufactures the product, and the replacement is smaller, more expensive, and made with honey that is not rated for activity. After extensive research we have settled on this product which is excellent, approved by the Australian TGA, and more active than the old Comvita product. | | | Features: | |

Did not work for me!Aug 21, 2010 I`ve been trying to get rid of a mild case of foliculitis (ingrown hair) for quite some time now. I tried going to the doctor and using different antibiotics, as well as anti-bacterial face-washes, but the results have been poor. This product "offers strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties" and that is why I decided to try it out. I thought it would help me get rid of the bacterial infection that is causing my foliculitis.
Before I say more, I guess it`s good to bear in mind that we all have different skin types, eating habits and life styles that ultimately reflect themselves on our skin among other things. That is why this product may be good for others, but not for me. It would be also useful for you to know that I am a young male with sensitive skin type.
A few words about my experience.
Basically, after having used this honey for three consecutive days, my face just exploded!
My face got inflamed to the point where I could feel a mild pain and a lot of (really, a lot) white infected acne appeared on the area where I have applied the honey. I have applied only a drop of it my finger tip and spread it out evenly across the infected area.
Initially, after the second day of use, I figured that the reaction I was seeing was maybe one where my skin was starting to clear. But on the third day of use, the inflammation got so bad that i decided to stop using this product completely (NB: this kind of reaction is described in the instruction list and people are advised to stop using the product in case this happens).
I did not think that a natural product like this could/would cause such a strong reaction. After all, it`s only honey without any artificial chemicals added to it.
Also, as someone mentioned in the earlier reviews, the texture of this product is not that of a regular cream. In fact, it`s not creamy at all. All it is in reality is honey with fine granules that you can feel once you apply it onto your fingers. After a few minutes on your face, the honey (naturally) becomes sticky, so it is hard to tolerate having sticky honey on your face throughout the day, even if in very tinny scale.
Note also that this seller offers a refund two weeks after the sale, and they expect the item to be unopened. In case you try it and it doesn`t work, you will lose your money just like that, since you can not NOT open a cream, right? Right.
Hope this will help others make a good choice!

RN gives thumbs upJun 29, 2010 I am a hospital RN and have done a lot of reading about bacitracin and similar bacteriostatic creams/ ointments/ gels. I have read that they have the potential to impede the body's natural immunity and actually INCREASE the risk of resistant organisms while prolonging wound healing. I got this honey product for a personal post-surgical incision. Now let me be clear, I have not tried this on an open wound. I did follow my surgeon's prescription for bacitracin until the wound was not "fresh" anymore. So about 4 days after stitches out I started using this and noted my healing to seem to happen faster and the skin to approximate (bind together) more quickly. This was used on a wound that grew out gram negative rods and since use, redness surrounding incision site seems to have decreased also. It smells good too which is an unusual 'plus' for wound products.

Works great on burns!Jun 29, 2010 Excellent product, fast service. It healed my 2nd and 3rd degree burns twice as fast as the silver sulfadiazine (silvadene rolls), they gave me at the Burn Center. I'm all about natural products but when it comes to my own health, I use triple the caution. Heard about the product but only tried it on a smaller area of my 2nd and 3rd degree burns first. And then, when the skin grew back rapidly and my wound closed completely, while the area with the silvadene rolls was still open, I was convinced this product actually works. I do want to mention that there is an intense tingling sensation when you first put on the honey, border line painful on an open burn where the nerves are still alive. But you quickly get used to it after a few days. You also would want to apply the honey on sterile non-adhesive pads to avoid sticking, which can be quite painful when changing bandages. All and all this product helped me avoid infection and skin graft surgery on rather large burns. Lastly, it has just been over a month since the incident and I don't know if there will be any permanent scaring at this point, but I will keep using this Australian Manuka Honey. It's a great discovery thanks to amazon.

A little deceiving but overall okJun 26, 2010 So a couple things here. First, this is NOT cream. This is actual honey, like you'd put on a biscuit. So you need to cover this with a band aid because it is STICKY as heck. Second, if you read the description carefully you'll notice that this honey comes from trees in Australia, not New Zealand. It is TESTED in New Zealand... I just returned to the States from New Zealand and I personally think that the honey from the manuka bushes in New Zealand are superior to this product. I have issues with MRSA following insect bites and I will tell you that the real manuka honey from trees in New Zealand heals those up in a really amazing way! Having said that, I bought this product thinking it was from New Zealand trees and I tried it. When I did not have the same results as the NZ manuka, I read the label closer and discovered it was actually from Australia. Look, this stuff isn't bad, but it ain't NZ manuka. I'm gonna keep looking for the real deal. I thought it was a little deceiving.

facial maskMay 23, 2010 I suffer from adult acne and this is the BEST product I have ever used for it. Does not dry out my skin like benzoyl peroxide or salycic acid. It is a great facial mask leaving my skin as soft as a baby's.
