Greasy, didn't like itSep 22, 2010
By Baron Von Cool I've been trying to get more organic and natural in my health and skin care products over the past few years. I'd heard lanolin was supposed to be good for your skin so I tried this aftershave on a whim. It was greasy, didn't smell that great and felt like it was clogging my pores so I threw it away after trying it a few days in a row. I've tried other products by Wild Ferns and liked them so this was an exception.
I prefer Burt's Bees Natural Skin Care For Men, Aftershave 2.5 fl oz (73 ml), which absorbs easily and leaves my face soothed and moisturized. However, I've recently switched from that old favorite for an even more organic product with multiple uses: Lily Of The Desert - Aloe Vera Gelly, 12 fl oz gel. This stuff is amazing (and 99% organic); not only can you use it as an aftershave, but you can also shave with it, use it as an all-over moisturizer, heal minor wounds, and it quickly removes and takes the sting out of sunburn. It absorbs quickly and works fast, better than anything else I've tried. I just keep a bottle of this Aloe Vera Gelly in my bathroom now; it takes up less space and does a better job than a ton of big pharma products (and I feel safer using it--it contains no parabens or other nasty chemicals). Make sure you get Lily of the Desert brand because not all other aloe vera gels are organic or pure. Case in point: Fruit of the Earth 100% Aloe Vera 12 oz. Gel. This junk claims to be 100% Gel, which it is, but it isn't 100% aloe vera--it's made up of a bunch of other toxic chemical crap, too. It burns going on and real aloe vera gel (like Lily of the Desert) never does that--it instantly cools and soothes your skin.
